Russia is rather a cold country, and there is only a short period of time in summer, when people can happily swim in local rivers and ponds, sunbathe on the local beaches. That’s why Russians try to take every chance of fine sunny weather to go to the country.
But the weather is also very changeable in Moscow area, and it often rains here. So local dirt roads in distant villages and tourist campsites in the country instantly get made impassable by rain. Sometimes it rains nearly every day, then roads turn into slush, and cars are often stuck in the mud. One always has to wear rubber boots in rainy weather.

But nothing can prevent Russians from going to the country. Though there are people who do not want to stay there without good community facilities: no hot running water, no shower in the house, the toilet is just a cubicle without drains. One has to go to the spring for drinking water.

But still most Russians like countryside with its beautiful nature, no city noise. And everything gets a summer pastime for Russians – barbeque, boating, fishing, picking up mushrooms, nuts, berries. On sunny days people enjoy swimming, sunbathing, playing beach volleyball, riding a bike.
